Shirley has been Director of the Bell County Wrtiers Guild since December 2013. Guild meets the 1st Monday of each month at the Lena Armstrong Library 6:30-8:30. Shirley has been a member of the Friends of the Lena Armstrong Library for 7 years. Past Ambassador for the Belton Area Chamber of Commerce, 2014. Organizer of Small Business Saturday Rally. American Red Cross Youth Council Director for American Cancer Society September 2003 – June 2004 Director of organized student youth group at Waskow High School Belton Texas Directed council’s fundraiser and participation in 4th of July parade. Organizing council’s team participation in Belton’s Cancer Relay. Held Red Cross community festival and donor programs. Honors & AwardsShirley's International Toastmaster journey as a member began in June of 2012. Shirley received highest education award of Distinguished Toastmaster DTM on October 15 2017.
Her Advance Communicator Gold was received on October 03, 2017. The Advance Communicator Silver was achieved on March 22, 2017 and Advance Leader Silver on March 27, 2017. Completed the HPL High Performance Leadership project for this award in May of 2014. Shirley served as the 2015-2016 L70 Area Director for Toastmasters and completed Coach assignment for Toast of Temple Toastmasters during January - June 2016. Advance Communicator Bronze & Advance Leadership Bronze were received in December of 2014. The Competent Communicator/Competent Leader CC/CL for Toastmasters International was received in May of 2013. Looking to develop speaking and leadership skills?
